This was very helpful! Having been prediabetic for five years with the pressure to lose weight and eat healthy tripped more disordered eating patterns which has caused my sugar to cross the line into diabetes numbers. Doc scared me to take it seriously. For one week, I did ‘good’. Rewarded with a 2 lb weight loss the first week, I thought that I might be able to do this. Second week, I added a little of this and that and gained back the 2 lbs setting off the drive to binge on chocolate and overeat. Perfect timing to hear this message. Being afraid of needles and having to buy the apparatus to test daily, the box is on the kitchen table untouched. Not to mention, along with a colon test box and an order for mammo. Wow, sucks getting old is all I can think while wanting to ostrich my head in the sand with total overwhelm. Thank you for the encouragement that I can intuitively eat in a way that will bolster my health, take steps to reduce stress and still eat with family and friends. The guilt and shame drive the disordered eating patterns and hike the stress levels up, too. Makes sense to embrace kindness towards my body verses harsh restrictions. Thank you!!!
